Kiryll Parfyonov holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Schulich School of Music at McGill University. There, he studied under the tutelage of Ilya Poletaev, a first-prize winner at the International Bach Competition. Kiryll has received numerous scholarships and awards including: the Vladimir J Elgard and PM Gelinas and VM Gelinas Piano award, and the Dorothy Morton and Anna P Gertler Scholarship. In his last year of studies, Kiryll had been a finalist at the McGill Romantic Piano Competition and was nominated to represent McGill University for the Hnytyshyn Foundation Grant for Developing Artists. During Kiryll’s pre-university studies, he was a finalist and second prize winner in the senior division at the Performing Arts BC Festival.

Not only a soloist, Kiryll has collaborated with vocalists and instrumentalists, performing in different venues in Montreal. As an instructor, Kiryll has over 4 years of experience teaching piano and music theory to children following the RCM curriculum and aiding in their preparation for examinations. Graduating with a minor in Music Theory, he has tutored peers in music theory at the university level.

Kiryll is an enthusiastic and studious instructor that believes that piano pedagogy is not only about instilling a desire for diligent practice in his students and creating a pattern of consistent improvement, but also about forming the student as an artist that truly feels the music they are performing. He wishes to give back to his community by sharing his experience and knowledge to the future generation of musicians.
